M&M services successfully completed the heating works as part of an upgrade to the St.Oliver Plunkett, Youth centre in Crossmaglen. When the initial energy audit was carried out by Cuilinn engineering it was found that the building was served by an oil fired space heater which heated the building in its entirety through a common ducted system. The burner within the heater could not modulate and even if only one room was in use the heater would deliver its full output regardless wasting oil and money for the client. As part of our contract we were commissioned to install a Bivalent heating system using split air conditioning systems in the Multi-purpose rooms, foyer, Games room and quiet room and an Oil fired combi boiler with Radiators providing heating and hot water to the manager’s office, Kitchen, toilet and shower areas.
The installation of dedicated room controllers on the air-conditioning and a dual timeclock on the boiler allowed for a much greater efficiency compared to the existing system as each room’s heating is independent.
